A gynaecologist is a surgeon and typically a medical doctor who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases concerning the female genital tract and overall women's health. This usually includes the diseases of the uterus, fallopian tubes, cervix, ovaries, vagina, and vulva. A gynaecologist is also an expert in treating menstrual problems, sexuality, contraception, menopause, and infertility. A lot of gynaecologists provide prenatal care as well. A few gynaecologists may also offer primary care services based on their training and experience.
The primary job of a gynaecologist is to carry out medical exams of the reproductive organs of women, trying to find abnormalities & possible problems as well as to ensure overall wellness.
